Who are you?
I am a high-energy, hard-working, down-to-earth, insanely creative and curious human in Gaithersburg, Maryland. My camera(s) and I have been in business since 2013. I primarily serve 20878 and surrounding areas but I have worked up and down the east coast in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Atlanta.... I'm more than happy to add locations to that list.
What do you photograph?
KIDS. ARE. MY. FAVORITE. There's no question about that. However, I photograph a vast range of subjects... headshots, families, dancers and b'mai mitzvahs are my usual suspects, but you name it - I'll capture it.
What's your vibe?
My style is playful, genuine and bright. I have done thousands of sessions and no two are exactly the same. My method is simple, fun and effective: I let my subjects inspire me to capture and create art with my camera.
Where is your insta?
For now, it's dusty and hard to find. I'm raising a middle schooler, and proving to my daughter and her peers that it IS possible to have a thriving business and social life WITHOUT being part of "the scroll." My clients are mostly repeat clients... And my primary method of marketing is word-of-mouth. So I can honestly say, I haven't needed it!! There is no greater reward on earth than hearing the phrase "My kid told me to call you..." And I've heard that phrase about a hundred times!!!
I heard you've met Shaq and Bill Clinton. Is that true?
Mmmhmmmm. In my previous life I had an exciting and intense career in the luxury hospitality industry. I've met hundreds of celebrities, CEO's, politicians and rockstars. I have many crazy stories and experiences taking care of the rich and famous! The only celebrities I cater to nowadays are my kid-cleints... I LOVE making children feel like superstars in front of my camera!
Why the family pic instead of a headshot?
If we spend any amount of time together, you will absolutely hear about my three favorite humans... Ryan, Lucy and Jack Tappis. My husband, Ryan is my biggest supporter and my business wouldn’t exist without him. Turns out I married the world's best SECOND SHOOTER! Who knew?! He and I are a packaged deal for my big shoots.
Those other two beauties, I made from scratch. They are my adorable, hilarious and amazing kids. They are my inspo and my go-to models when trying new set-ups and skills. Now-a-days, they are my assistants! I love teaching them KINDNESS, hard work, good customer service and bringing people JOY while I am at work! What's better than that?!?
